Who we are

Standing behind the people who keep the power on.

Founded in 1990 and registered as 1956/90 at Chennai, the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board Workers & Engineers United Union is a recognised trade union affiliated with Hind Mazdoor Sabha — representing field assistants, technicians, operators and engineers alike.

From the men who climb the poles to the engineers in the control room — we are the collective voice of everyone who runs Tamil Nadu's power system.

Wage revision, workload, transfers, promotions, inter-se seniority and safety equipment — we negotiate with the Board and the Government on every issue that touches a member's service life, and we follow each case until it is settled.

Our work runs at every level: raising collective demands before the state leadership, and walking a single member's file through the district office until it moves.

Wages & Service

Negotiating wage revision, workload norms, arrears and service conditions.

Welfare Fund

Medical aid, bereavement support and family assistance for 4,000+ welfare members.

Safety & Rights

Safety gear, job protection and representation in disciplinary matters.

Circulars

Board proceedings, seniority lists and notices — published as they are issued.
